COOPERATION HAS POWER
The City of Outokumpu established the campingsite in the peak year of domestic tourism in 1978. The beautiful area was in danger of being left without an operator in year 2020, so the Outokumpu Tourist Association took action together with local people, businesses and associations.
Important values are responsibility, accessibility and respect for local culture. The campsite and café have been ecologically refurbished, saving and refurbishing old items.
Local associations organize their own events at the cafe, to which tourists are also welcome. The cafe is a good place to get to know the local way of life and people.
